Our wool expertise is evident in every fiber: For all Coastland wool blankets, we only use high-quality merino wool , which is among the best in the world. This merino wool comes from sheep that meet our high standards in terms of animal welfare and wool quality - mulesing-free, of course.

As a young wool weaving mill, we take a holistic approach and assume responsibility from wool production to the finished product. That is why we only use pure new wool whose origin, processing and quality meet our high standards.

Our wool textiles are produced with the utmost respect for the environment. The wool is carefully sorted according to quality, color and fineness as soon as it is sheared. Coastland wool is only washed and remains free of chemical additives. 75% of our wool remains natural, while we have colored wool dyed in Germany in an environmentally friendly way.

How to Care for Wool Blankets

Coastland wool blankets are made from pure new wool, which has outstanding properties. Pure new wool regulates moisture and temperature, is antibacterial and self-cleaning. Therefore, our wool blankets do not need to be washed - airing them outside is the best way to freshen up your wool textile. Our wool is completely untreated. It is therefore not suitable for the washing machine or tumble dryer, as this can damage both the fabric and the wool. Stains or soiling can be treated with a cold, damp cloth. A drop of washing-up liquid can help and the area should then be rinsed with clean water. Avoid direct sunlight and never use a tumble dryer.
